The choice of Internet Service Providers has increased in Ireland in the last 5 years. Before that -
Eircom was the sole telecoms provider - Eircom till have the majority of the telephone customers but . Competition has helped to lower prices of telephone and internet connections.

Home Phone DSL Broadband

One recent competitor of Eircom is Vodafone - who have now entered the landline market . (They took over BT Ireland)
Vodafone are offering a package of always on 3Mb broadband (40Gb a month limit) , line rental and all local and national landline calls for just €45 a month.
If you are a Vodafone mobile customer on a pay monthly scheme - you can get this bundle for just €40 Euro a month.
You can sign up with Vodafone online . This package is the cheapest phone and 3Mb broadband bundle in Ireland with unlimited anytime calls.

Mobile Broadband :
3G Mobile internet usage is also fairly widespread in Ireland. Download speeds and signal reliability tend to vary a lot depending on where you are and what time of day it is! In rural areas = speeds may not be very good at all and my be worse than dial-up in some places.

Prices for most mobile broadband packages are around €19.99 a month.
Students can get mobile broadband from O2 from as little as €9.99 a month with a 10Gb data cap.
