The Ordnance Survey Discovery Maps of Ireland are probably the best detailed printed maps of Ireland that you can buy. They are available from the Ordnance Survey online
Just click on the Irish County of your choice on the menus at the side to see the coverage area of each map. Many of the larger Irish counties are covered by more than one map.

The Ordnance Survey Map Shop is very reasonably priced and they deliver all over the world for a flat rate - the same delivery price for multiple maps. They sometimes offer a good discount when you spend over a certain amount.

The maps are to a scale of 1:50,000 - which provides enough detail to see even the individual houses in rural areas !

Walking In Ireland ? These maps are great for walking or hill climbing.

Cycling in Ireland ? Cyclists will also find the detailed maps really useful - to find those off the beaten track places.

Family History and Genealogy: These detailed maps are a great companion to your family tree search. You can actually see the area where your ancestors came from. You will be able to find nearby townland and village names that will assist you in your searches.

Touring by Car: The maps are also great if you are touring Ireland by car. All classes of minor roads and tracks are shown on these maps in great detail. Sat Nav is good if you know where you are going - but a detailed paper map is great for finding interesting places.
